Flour Girl Wedding Cakes is a small, boutique wedding and all occasion bakery. We believe in “quality over quantity” and therefore limit the number of events we do every week. We are not a full service bakery. Everything we create is custom made to order. We offer cutting edge designs and innovative flavors. Our focus is solely on you and your event. We offer unsurpassed customer service and most importantly, we LOVE our job! 

Peak wedding season in Lake Tahoe is May 1 st – November 1 st. If your wedding date falls within this time, we suggest booking 9–12 months in advance, or, as soon as your date and reception site have been selected. If your wedding occurs in the off-season, 3–6 months is usually sufficient.

Although purely optional, cake tastings are an excellent chance to fully experience what we have to offer. Tastings/consultations are scheduled by appointment Mondays – Saturdays and take about 1 hour. Tastings are $60 for up to four people. A large, “set” tasting of our most popular flavors will be provided, as well as a chance to browse through our full portfolio. Cake tastings with additional desserts are $75.

Of course! The more the merrier at no extra charge. Minimum 12 cupcakes per flavor please.

Yes! We welcome custom flavors tailor made to your taste buds. The more creative the better.

We will make every effort to accommodate most food allergies (nuts, eggs, dairy) and other dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegan). Unfortunately, sugar free products are not offered at this time. 

You may change the size of your order up to 30 days before your event. Changes within 30 days of your event will incur a $50 change fee per occurrence. Design changes up to two months prior will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

You can reserve the date with a signed contract and a 25% non-refundable retainer of your estimated order size.

Final payment is due 10 days prior to the event.

We accept cash, check, Venmo, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Originating in the Southern U.S., a groom’s cake is a separate cake dedicated to the groom, often showing off his favorite hobby or interest. Although purely optional, it is a fun way to focus some extra attention on the groom. It can be displayed alongside the wedding cake or is oftentimes showcased and served at the rehearsal dinner. 

We recommend ordering your cake flowers from your florist to match the rest of the wedding flowers. Either your florist or Flour Girl Wedding Cakes can arrange them on your cake (at no extra charge). We are also more than happy to order cake flowers for you at an additional charge.

We do not sell cake toppers. If you have purchased a cake topper we ask that you provide us with its weight and dimensions. You may leave it for us at your reception site the day of the wedding or ship it to our PO Box beforehand for safekeeping.

This is a personal decision. If promptly refrigerated after the wedding and kept cool during transport back home then frozen, your top tier can save very well. However, if you are flying or driving a long distance after your wedding we suggest skipping this tradition and opting for a freshly made replica on your anniversary.
